How Do I Create a New Rent Collection?

Follow the steps below to get started:

Step 1: Log into Your SingleKey Profile

Begin by logging into your SingleKey account. From your dashboard, navigate to the “Rent Collection” section.

Step 2: Click “New Rent Collection”

In the top-right corner of the Rent Collection section, click on “New Rent Collection” to initiate the setup.

Step 3: Add Tenant and Property Details

You’ll be prompted to select a tenant from the dropdown menu and provide details about the rental property.

  • If the tenant is not already in the system, click “Add Tenant” and enter their name, email address, and phone number. Then, click “Add” to save.

Step 4: Enter Rent Details

Next, enter the monthly rent amount, along with the start date and end date of the lease.

Step 5: Link Your Bank Account

You’ll need to link the bank account where you’d like rent payments to be deposited.

  • Click “Add New Bank Account”, then choose one of two options:

    • Connect via Bank (Plaid): Select your financial institution and follow the prompts to securely connect your account.

    • Enter Account Details Manually: Manually input your bank details and upload a void cheque to verify the account.

Step 6: Complete Verification

To finalize the setup, complete the required verification steps. You also have the option to upload a proof of ownership document, although it’s not mandatory.


Once you’ve completed these steps, your Rent Collection contract will be active, and you’ll be ready to start receiving payments seamlessly.
