The new rent increase guidelines in the Northwest Territories have been updated for 2023. Read our key points below and learn everything landlords need to keep in mind.
There is no limit on rent increases in the Northwest Territories for 2023. If the landlord provides a tenant with 3 months of proper written notice, they can increase the rent on a residential rental unit to market price.
The landlord must give at least 3 months of written notice of the rent increase before it takes effect, and can only increase rent once in a 12-month period. In most cases, the rent for a residential unit can be increased 12 months after:
